Happy Thanksgiving
Welcome Lee Hower!
Athleague is proud to announce that entrepreneur, venture capitalist, soccer enthusiast, and all around rockstar Lee Hower is doing us the honor of joining our advisory board.
Lee was an early employee at PayPal (back when it was X.com!) and a founding member of LinkedIn. He is currently a partner at Point Judith Capital. He hails from the University of Pennsylvania, where he double majored in Business and Engineering as a member of the Jerome Fisher Program in Management and Technology.
Lee plays forward, and roots for Team USA (big surprise, we know). Unfortunately, his favorite club is Arsenal, which we all know is less talented and successful than Liverpool. But, you know, no one is perfect.
He’ll be giving us awesome advice and product ideas (and probably schooling us in soccer). You can find his blog at http://www.leehower.com/ and a profile at http://www.crunchbase.com/person/lee-hower. Welcome to the team Lee!
Hello Boston
It’s official - we’ve moved! Our brand-spanking new international headquarters are located in the heart of the town of beans: good ol’ Boston. The move was for many reasons - primarily because we’re huge New York Yankee fans and wanted to maximize the potential irony of the situation.
Seriously, we’re not Yankee fans. We really hope they don’t win the World Series.
Anyway, we’re adjusting nicely to the new place. Our offices are located in downtown Boston, next to the Park Street station (accessible by the Green, Red, and Orange lines!). So you know we’ll be organizing many game at the historic Boston Common (yeah, it’s Common, not Commons - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boston_Common - who knew). Come visit!
Ok, in all honesty, we’re really liking the city so far. Keep your eyes peeled for us around town - we’re going to be making some big moves. Big, thus-far-top-secret moves. Like, “we could tell you but we’d have to kill you” moves.
Stay tuned - more fun ahead.
