You asked, and we listened. We just uploaded changes that ease the process of creating divisions. Before, the pages for generating and managing divisions were slightly separate. Now, while you can still use them as separate pages, both functionalities have been combined onto one page. And, yes, both still have our handy AJAX interface, so you can drag and drop teams as you see fit.
Of course, the divisions pages still interact with team’s time preferences, and you can see them on the time grid below the divisions. So fear not, your divisions will still be perfectly suited to your teams’ individual time preferences. Keep the feedback coming!
Controlling who has access to your intramural network can be a thorny issue - you sometimes don’t know who is an eligible student and who isn’t. Thankfully, we’ve been working hard to make identification easier for you, and so we proudly present our newest feature - Student ID Verification.
This feature allows you to authenticate all student who sign up for the website. On your end, you need to obtain a list of all valid student ID numbers. From here, you simply need to navigate to the Manage Student IDs page from the Network tab and paste all the ID numbers into the box there. This can be done by copying the entire column which contains the ID numbers and then pasting them into the box. However, you can also link student ID numbers to a name, so that a student must enter the correct ID and name to sign up for the site. To do this, you need to get the information on to a blank excel document, with the data for ID number, Last name, and First name in successive columns. Then, you should click Save As and save the file as a CSV document. From here, open the document in a simple text editor (you can right click on the file and select “Open with”), and you should have a document in which each line is Student ID number, Last name, First name. Copy and paste this entire document onto the site and you’re set.
Finally, there is the thorny issue of what to do with students who are eligible players but, for whatever reason, don’t have valid Student IDs. Luckily, we have an easy fix for this - just have one of the admins invite the student in question to the network - click on the Invites tab and then the To Network subtab. Invitations to the site from an admin will bypass the Student ID verification system.
